Mark Jennings Named Regional VP for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' 12 Mid-Atlantic Hotels

WASHINGTON - October 1, 2013 - Mark Jennings has been named regional vice president, Mid-Atlantic for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. In his new role, he oversees 12 hotels in the Mid-Atlantic region, including eight hotels in Washington, D.C., three hotels in Alexandria, Virginia, and one in Baltimore, Maryland. He is based at Hotel Palomar Washington DC, where he also serves as the hotel's general manager, and is responsible for overseeing all personnel, business development, and guest relations for the 335-room boutique hotel.

Jennings has over 25 years of hotel experience, most recently serving as the director of operations for six Kimpton hotels in Washington, D.C. while simultaneously serving as general manager of Donovan House. Prior to his work with Kimpton, Jennings spent 20 years in various management roles at Hyatt Hotels throughout the country.

Jennings is very active in the Washington, D.C. community. He serves on the board of directors for Destination DC and is co-chair of the Convention Committee, as well as the treasurer and finance committee chair on the board of directors for Hospitality High School. Previously, he sat on the board of the Bethesda Chamber of Commerce and served as the president of the Montgomery County CVB board. This past year, Jennings was awarded the Hotel Association of Washington, D.C.'s (HAWDC) Stars of the Industry Award for Outstanding General Manager of the Year.

Jennings is a longtime member of the Washington Chorus and has sung first tenor for the past 12 seasons. He currently resides in Springfield, Virginia with his wife, Kathy, and two daughters, Adaire and Madeleine.
