King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort announces the appointment of Revell Newton as the new general manager of the 455-room property, set on 22 idyllic beachfront acres on the Island of Hawaiÿi. Formerly the director of sales and marketing at the property for the past year, Newton brings over 25 years of extensive industry experience and profound local knowledge to his new leadership role.

In his new role as general manager, Newton will oversee all operational aspects of King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, ensuring unparalleled guest satisfaction, enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a deeper connection with the local community and culture. His vision includes reinforcing the resort's dedication to Hawaiian heritage while optimizing opportunities for leisure, business, and group travelers. Notably during his time with the property, Newton introduced the resort's ÿO Kona kai ÿehu Sunrise Vow Renewal service, offering a romantic morning ceremony designed for couples to rekindle their love and celebrate their lifelong promises. Prior to joining King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, Newton held key leadership roles at luxury resorts across Oahu, Kauai and Maui, including general manager of Aqua-Aston Hospitality and vice president of sales, marketing, and business development at Castle Hospitality Group. His vast experience in the hospitality sector also includes pivotal roles such the general manager of the Outrigger Waikiki, hotel manager at the Sheraton Kona Resort, as well as director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Waikiki, Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa and Kapalua Bay Hotel (a Luxury Collection Resort).
