GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, September 19, 2006 - The United States Conference on Aids (USCA) will hold their Annual Convention - "Rejuvenate, Revitalize, Remember - Complex Challenges Demand Creative Solutions" at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida, September 21- 25.

On Thursday, September 21, Earvin "Magic" Johnson will host a lecture kicking-off the USCA conference, which is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees. This year's emphasis on building national support networks, exchanging the latest information and the learning of cutting-edge tools to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS will offer attendees the skills, experience, and passion that USCA is committed to in the journey toward a world without HIV/AIDS. According to Lisa Agate, Host Committee Co-chair and AIDS Program Director at the Broward County Health Department, "this conference will provide us with the opportunity to exchange information and network with people from all over the United States, the Caribbean, and the continents of Africa and Europe. Our greatest solutions have always come from networking with our colleagues and replicating programs and ideas that have proven to be successful."

"We are proud to be chosen as the host city for the U.S. Conference on Aids and hope the attendees of this conference will use their free time to rejuvenate, revitalize and enjoy Greater Fort Lauderdale's many sunny attributes," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Greater Fort Lauderdale can expect an estimated economic impact of $5 million from hosting this important meeting. USCA has contracted room blocks with The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, Marriott Hollywood Beach, and Hampton Inn Hallandale.
