Ernie Arias Named Area Director of Sales and Marketing of Park Hyatt New York

NEW YORK - August 30, 2013 - Ernie Arias has been named Area Director of Sales and Marketing of the highly anticipated Park Hyatt New York, which is expected to open in mid-2014 and serve as the luxury brand's flagship property. In this role, Arias is responsible for sales strategy, marketing, public relations and managing the hotel's luxury brand positioning with local, national and international markets. Arias reports to Walter Brindell, General Manager and Area Vice President, Park Hyatt New York.

Arias has been an ambassador for the Park Hyatt brand since he joined Hyatt in 2005. Arias served as the Director of Sales and Marketing of Park Hyatt Chicago, and as Area Director of Sales at Hyatt's corporate headquarters in Chicago before he was named Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Park Hyatt Washington, and Area Director of Sales for Park Hyatt hotels, overseeing all Park Hyatt hotels sales in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. As Director of Sales and Marketing for Park Hyatt Washington, Arias was nominated for Hyatt's Sales and Catering Team of the Year award in 2010, and was also nominated as Sales and Marketing Director of the Year in 2010 and 2011.

In addition, Arias has worked with and served on committees such as Martha's Table, Washington Animal Rescue League, Washington Humane Society, Knock out Abuse and Make a Wish Foundation.

Arias, a native of Colorado, attended the University of Colorado and the University of Houston's Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management. Arias is proficient in Spanish and in his free time enjoys traveling, shopping, working out and entertaining with family and friends in his Manhattan home.
