Thayer's Mike Uwe Dickersbach is Elected Chairperson of AHLA's Technology & e-Business Committee

Dickersbach is Vice President, Information Technology, for Thayer Lodging Group, and a Fifteen Year Industry Veteran

New York - August 20, 2013 - Thayer Lodging Group, a privately held investment company that produces strong Alpha Returns for investors in hotel real estate, announced that Mike Dickersbach, its Vice President, Information Technology, has been elected Chairperson of the AH&LA's Technology e-Business Committee.

Serving the hospitality industry for more than a century, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) is the sole national association representing all sectors and stakeholders in the lodging industry, including individual hotel property members, hotel companies, student and faculty members, and industry suppliers.

The Committee acts as a technology resource for AH&LA members, providing advice and guidance on hospitality technology issues -- including general advice on the applicability of new and emerging technologies to the hospitality industry, and on specific regulatory issues related to or impacting hospitality technology. The Chair is elected for a two-year term. Jim Lamb, Chief Information Officer of Interstate Hotels & Resorts, was elected to the position of Vice Chair.

A 15-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mike Dickersbach is responsible for overseeing the technology, systems infrastructure, and Audio Visual integration within the Thayer Lodging Group portfolio of hotels and the corporate office. Along with key project management, Mr. Dickersbach also oversees the daily IT operations of Thayer Lodging Group Inc. and EMCVenues.

Prior to joining Thayer, Mike worked in the Hospitality industry as a Systems & Control manager for Hilton Hotels and as a restaurant manager for Doubletree Hotels, after graduating from Johnson & Wales University (magna cum laude.)

Along with his Certified Hospitality Technology (CHTP) designation, he is a Comptia A+ and NET+ certified technician, and is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Within the industry, Mike is an active member of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) Technology Task Force, sits on the Advisory Board for Hospitality Technology Magazine and serves on the American Hospitality and Lodging Association's (AHLA) Technology and e-commerce advisory committee.
