The Ritz-Carlton, Denver Announces the Appointment of Betsy Olwine as DoSM

DENVER, CO - August 9, 2013 - Steven Janicek, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, is delighted to announce the leadership of Ms. Betsy Olwine to spearhead all Sales and Marketing initiatives, strategies and community partnerships at Denver's only hotel bearing the coveted AAA Five-Diamond rating, three years consecutively.

“Betsy brings widespread hotelier experience from both national and corporate levels as well as extensive internal hotel operations knowledge. She is certain to be a strong leader for the Sales & Marketing division,” shared Janicek. “We are eager to welcome her to The Ritz-Carlton family.”

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C, Betsy spent the last 20 years with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, most recently as Director of Sales Training Operations for corporate headquarters and was based in Denver. Previous to leading Hyatt's sales training efforts, she was the Director of Sales Recruitment for the company. Betsy began her hospitality career in the rooms division eventually leading her to take on various Sales and Sales & Marketing Director positions at the following properties: Grand Hyatt Denver, Park Hyatt San Francisco, Rickey's, a Hyatt Hotel - Palo Alto, CA, Highlands Inn, Park Hyatt - Carmel, CA and Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa - Bonita Springs, FL.

Betsy is originally from Vancouver, Washington but has a love for Denver and its beautiful surroundings. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening and not surprisingly, traveling. She will marry her fiance this September in the mountains of Colorado. Betsy studied Restaurant Management at Washington State University; following she earned her Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
