March 8, 2013 - Located on Tröndlinring within the immediate vicinity of Leipzig Central Station and opposite the new 'Höfe am Brühl'Shopping Centre, the hotel will offer an attractive destination for business travellers and tourists alike.

The 160 rooms feature air conditioning as well as being equipped with W-Lan, satellite TV including Sky channels free of charge and voicemail telephones. Disabled-accessible guest rooms are available if required. The conference area extends over 200 m2 and can accommodate events for up to 144 persons. A restaurant, a bistro/lounge and a bar will all help meet gastronomic requirements. The InterCityHotel "FreeCityTicket" scheme will also be on offer, enabling guests to use Leipzig's public transport system free of charge.

The hotel was designed by Planungsgemeinschaft von felsensteinprojekt Architekten of Hamburg and nps tchoban voss Architekten of Dresden. Four full storeys and two smaller top storeys are being constructed. The height of the building will correspond with the neighbouring "Old District Government Office". The design of the textured and light coloured facade will feature a high-quality plinth in natural stone.

Project development is by the Hamburg-based B&L Group, which previously held the same responsibility for the InterCityHotels in Dresden und Hamburg. Investment volume is approximately €15 million.

Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, also stated his views. "Leipzig is the perfect location for an InterCityHotel. Demand from guests has undergone an extremely positive development and continues to grow from year to year".
