Banyan Group announced the opening of Banyan Tree Veya, Valle de Guadalupe, a luxurious wellbeing resort set amidst the picturesque vineyard landscape of Mexico's wine country. Accessible within 90 minutes from the U.S. border, the opening marks the first full-fledged property for the Group's dedicated wellbeing brand, Banyan Tree Veya, which offers a haven for those seeking connection.
"We are excited to debut our wellbeing-focused Veya brand in North America, where the wellness industry is booming, while also bringing something new to the region of Valle de Guadalupe, which is currently mostly known for its wine and culinary offerings," said Peter Hechler, Senior Vice President, Head of Regional Operations, Africa, Europe, Middle East & Americas at Banyan Group. "Banyan Tree Veya, meaning to weave, was created to provide a place of connection with oneself, others and nature. It offers a safe space where our guests can discover new possibilities and wisdom through the various somatic practices and embodiment therapies, so that they can integrate into their path of wellbeing."
Designed by acclaimed Mexican architect Michel Rojkind and interiors by smArq Arquitectura, the resort embraces earth's architecture and blends seamlessly into the rolling hills of Valle de Guadalupe. Nestled in the hills of Baja California, the 16-acre Banyan Tree Veya, Valle de Guadalupe features a bespoke collection of 30 villas with private plunge pools, a variety of wellbeing experiences and an ethnobotanical garden. The resort also offers a private winery that will debut its own exclusive collection of wines dedicated solely to Grenache, as well as several exceptional culinary outlets that are poised to set a new gastronomic standard in the renowned wine region of Valle de Guadalupe.

WELLBEING
Drawing on Asian traditions that date back centuries, Banyan Tree Veya's wellbeing experiences are formed around the Banyan Group's ‘8 Pillars of Wellbeing', a foundation for a holistic and enriching journey toward overall wellbeing. Itineraries are customized around each individual from a questionnaire and pre-arrival consultation with a team of experts, including Spa Manager Heriberto Peña, who brings over a decade of experience in the luxury spa and wellness space.
The Veya Spa will be home to; four treatment rooms, the Desert Spring hydrotherapy room, Vitality Fitness Studio, the White Cave for meditation and sound healing, Multifunction Movement Studio, two hilltop pools, a labyrinth, and a traditional temazcal. It will offer a diverse range of world-class treatments deeply rooted in Asian and local indigenous rituals, met with homemade products from Veya Pharm, the property's garden, and a range of unique wellbeing offerings from Qi Body Flow to ancient fusioned massage techniques. Integrating functional movement and mindful awareness, daily group and private classes include breathwork, singing bowl therapy, apothecary workshops, yoga, meditation and more.
The first in Valle de Guadalupe, the property's traditional Mexican temazcal (house of heat) ritual cleanses the mind and body. The transformative, culturally-rooted ceremony is guided by a local Temazcalero, who will lead guests through the rituals of deep breathing exercises, meditative chants and drumming to help release tension and renew their energy, before stepping into the temazcal dome with hot stones and medicinal plants that will purify the senses on all levels. A closing ritual will seal the transformation, enhancing mental clarity and spiritual renewal.
CULINARY AND EVENTS
Led by Food and Beverage Manager Fernando Labra Degante, the resort's seven culinary concepts aim to inspire conscious living, seamlessly weaving healthy ingredients and practices into both traditional and modern Mexican dishes utilizing fresh, locally harvested food that supports small farms and is sustainably sourced.
