Tivoli Hotels & Resorts Debuts Its First Hotel in Italy: Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa
Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the opening of Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa, bringing the brand's timeless glamour to the Gulf of Trieste in northern Italy, and marking its expansion into Italy.
Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana welcomes guests to experience its unique location, exciting culinary concepts, and two new partnerships: Purobeach Portopiccolo, the beach club that brings the Mediterranean lifestyle to the unspoiled coast of the North Adriatic, and Terme di Saturnia, a well-known Tuscan wellness brand that will operate the spa. Nestled in the beautiful Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve, the property is situated in the mixed-use development of Portopiccolo, with its private beach overlooking turquoise waters alongside neighboring restaurants and bars, shops, and a luxury marina that provides access to Italy's iconic ocean adventures.
The resort boasts 58 luxuriously furnished guest rooms, including 20 suites, with an elegant design and stunning views of the marina and the sea, in addition to 30 branded apartments. The leisure facilities include six swimming pools, with one just for adults, the Purobeach Portopiccolo area and the Green beach, where families can relax on the splendid lawns overlooking both the sea and a pool, while perfectly poised to admire the beautiful sunset over the water.
Now open for its first season on the Adriatic Coast, Purobeach Portopiccolo is an exciting partnership that further enhances the leisure and gastronomic offerings of the hotel. It embodies the quintessential Mediterranean lifestyle, offering a luxurious experience and a place to create unforgettable memories. Here, guests will find an oasis of pleasure, with a selection of lounge areas: one by the harbor pool near the restaurant and bar with comfortable sun beds and unique sounds by Puro music DJ sets; two terraces dotted with infinity pools, soft white sun beds and a chiringuito for snacks and cocktails; a white pebble beach with docks jutting out over the water; and the green beach area that is perfect for families, with its pool and beachfront loungers. Food lovers will take delight in the ethnic-inspired menu by 3M (Melbourne, Marrakech and Miami), which pairs Salmon Poke, Nachos and Guacamole, and the Puro Club Sandwich with local Italian specialties like pastas, risotto, fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
Located in the main hotel building with a terrace overlooking the marina, Ocyan restaurant offers gourmet Mediterranean cuisine, featuring fresh fish and seasonal local ingredients. Smoked Spaghetti with Clams from the Gulf of Trieste, Cabras Bottarga and Marjoram; Tortelli with Trieste-style Goulash, Montasio Soubise Sauce and Brown Reduction; and Adriatic Red Mullet, Smoked Provola, Escarole and Romesco Sauce are some of the signature dishes that showcase the best of the region. A tasting menu of three, four or five courses and wine pairings is also available.
The Azur Lounge Bar serves snacks and light lunches, such as salads and sandwiches, ceviche, steak tartar, pasta and local fish, while the bar's terrace is perfect for aperitifs at sunset with panoramic views overlooking the marina and the sea.
Launching later this year, an expansive 38,000 square foot spa will be operated by Terme di Saturnia, who shares their knowledge and specific thermal approach to wellbeing and longevity at the resort. The facilities include eight spacious treatment rooms, including a panoramic couple's spa suite, a large indoor/outdoor vitality pool with sea views, as well as saunas and steam rooms. Terme di Saturnia brings the expertise they developed in the heart of Maremma Tuscany, immersed in 297 acres of nature and its unique thousand-year-old spring thermal water. Inside the main hotel building there is a wellness and fitness center, with a sauna, steam room and a fully equipped gymnasium.
Nearby, guests can explore the city of Trieste and discover attractions, including the Castle of Duino and Miramare Castle. For those looking to discover further abroad, Slovenia and Croatia are easily accessible. The resort is a 20-minute drive to Trieste Airport and just one-hour from the Venice, Treviso and Ljubljana airports.
Portopiccolo is a one-of-a-kind car-free destination, where the peaceful atmosphere inspires guests to unwind and enjoy life, perfectly embodying the Tivoli philosophy of slow living.
