Cambria Breaks Ground In Savannah
Construction Begins On the First Signed Cambria Suites Contract
SAVANNAH, GA, October 5, 2006. Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) continues to expand its new all-suites hotel brand Cambria Suites since entering the select-service upscale market more than a year ago. The fresh new design of Cambria Suites meets the needs of today's business and leisure travelers and will help to establish Choice as an innovator in the select-service upscale segment.
Choice Hotels recently broke ground on the Savannah, Georgia Cambria Suites-the first executed franchise agreement for the new brand. The event served not only to recognize the confidence that hotel developers have shown for the new Cambria brand but also to observe the company's dedication to the select-service upscale market.
Those present at the event included William Edmundson, vice president, brand management and strategy for Cambria Suites, Choice Hotels; Dean Patel, owner, Airport Hospitality LLC; as well as members of the Savannah Camber of Commerce. The property is slated to open in September 2007.
'We are thrilled to be in such a great location within the Savannah region that will appeal to its travelers,' said William Edmundson, vice president of brand management and strategy for Cambria Suites. 'We are also especially pleased to be working with Dean Patel and Airport Hospitality LLC as a franchisee. Airport Hospitality brings the well-earned reputation and first-class experience that we are looking for in our developers as we build the Cambria Suites brand.'
This stylish new lifestyle hotel brand, launched by Choice Hotels in response to strong market demand for a select-service, upscale hotel product, is a fresh alternative to the other brands that exist in most markets today. This upscale segment continues to perform well and Choice licensees want to be part of the action with a Cambria Suites hotel. The Cambria Suites team works diligently to ensure properties in the right markets with the right franchisees and the right management companies.
"Hotel developers are very excited about the size of the Cambia Suites room and its stylish offerings,' said Brad LeBlanc, vice president of franchise sales for the Cambria Suites brand. 'We continue to find developers that are extremely interested in pursuing Cambria Suites opportunities.'
The all-suites hotels boast a design that is more intimate and less institutional than traditional hotel d'ecor and guestrooms that are 25 percent larger than standard hotel rooms. Hotels will offer the latest in technology, from a large-screen plasma television in the lobby to two flat-panel televisions, MP3 jacks and CD/DVD players in the guestrooms and complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the property.
All Cambria Suites hotels include Reflect, a hotel Lounge with barista bar; Refresh, a fitness center with an indoor pool and hot tub; and Refill, a 24-7 convenience store that will stock freshly prepared "grab 'n' go" items as traditional convenience store fare. In addition, all hotels will offer more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space. Every Cambria Suites hotel is committed to operational excellence and features the Cambria Pledge, an unconditional 100-percent satisfaction guarantee.
