KSL Resorts Assumes Management of Napa Valley’s Historic Silverado Resort and Spa
Adding to its growing portfolio of iconic properties, KSL Resorts has taken over the day-to-day management of Silverado Resort and Spa, a luxury resort in the heart of Napa Valley wine country and announces Todd Shallan as the resort's new managing director.
A California landmark for more than 150 years, Silverado's genesis was as a private estate and is now a contemporary resort with 449 guest rooms and suites, two Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed championship golf courses, a 16,000-square-foot spa and fitness center and 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
"As we continue our strategic growth, we are thrilled to add this storied property to our portfolio," said Ian Pullan, vice president for KSL Resorts. "We look forward to working with the local community of Napa Valley and whole-heartedly embrace our role as the new stewards of Silverado Resort and Spa."
According to Pullan, KSL Resorts continues to focus its growth on prominent leisure destinations and distinguished hotel and resort properties in the luxury segment. "Silverado represents an example of our commitment to iconic resort properties that are at the foundation of our company," he said. "We will draw upon our 30-year experience of successfully enhancing luxury golf resorts, including Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, La Quinta Resort & Club, PGA West and La Costa Resort & Spa, which are all in California and most recently, Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California."
With more than 30 years of hospitality industry experience, Shallan was most recently chief operating officer at Alterra Mountain Company for its hospitality division and has previously served as general manager at Hotel del Coronado in Southern California and Claremont Resort, Club & Spa, Oakland, Calif.
Surrounded by Napa Valley's more than 400 wineries and situated on 300 picturesque acres, Silverado is known for its centerpiece pillared mansion built in 1870. The acclaimed property, which is home to the PGA Tour Fortinet Championship, now features three contemporary dining venues, three guest swimming pools, ten plexi-paved outdoor tennis courts, three bocce ball courts and a multitude of other recreational offerings.
