James King Named as Executive Chef at the Hilton Hartford Hotel

HARTFORD, CT - June 20, 2014 - The Hilton Hartford recently announced the appointment of James King as Executive Chef of the hotel. In his new role, Chef King will be responsible for the menu creation and daily culinary operations of the Hilton Hartford and m&m bistro. Chef King brings more than 16 years of culinary experience to the Hilton team, including his most recent role at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport where he served as Executive Chef for eight years. During his time at the Sheraton, Chef King was honored with numerous awards and accolades, including “Manager of the Year” from Waterford Hotel Group and “Chef of the Year” by the Connecticut Lodging Association. Previously, he had served as Chef de Cuisine and Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook, CT and as Sous Chef for Houlihan's Public House in West Hartford, CT. Chef King began his culinary career in 1998 as Lead Cook at the Kingsway Hall Hotel in London.

Chef King holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Business Management from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. He also has a Superior Culinary Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu London and completed the culinary certificate program at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine in Edinburgh, U.K.
