Shujaat Khan Voted Back Into Leadership Role for Second Term

Washington DC - September 18, 2013 - Hospitality industry veteran Mr. Shujaat Khan was recently elected President of Les Clefs d'Or USA, the original and only association of hotel lobby concierges in the United States. Mr. Khan's career spans three decades as a leader in the concierge profession, holding positions in several of the area's most noted hotels including the Watergate Hotel and the Capital Hilton Hotel, where he is currently Chef Concierge. The appointment was decided by vote of the body of over 600 members and marks Mr. Khan's second term presiding over the group; he previously served as president in 2006.

Mr. Khan's dedication to hospitality excellence is demonstrated by his commitment to fostering growth and professionalism among concierges. For over a decade, he has served on the Board of Directors for Les Clefs d'Or, USA, where he was instrumental in developing and implementing training programs, leading classes in Washington D.C., Miami, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico and throughout the Caribbean. Additionally, Mr. Khan has served the international concierge community, holding positions of Zone Director of the Americas and Assistant General Secretary of the Union Internationale des Concierges d'Hotels “Les Clefs d'Or” (UICH), the only international society of professional hotel concierges, representing more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Mr. Khan has been the recipient of multiple professional awards. He was named “Hospitality Star of the Year 2006” by the Hotel Association of the District of Columbia. He received multiple Spirit of Pride awards from the Hilton Hotel Corporation and was named “Concierge of the Year” in 2007.

The driving force behind many philanthropic endeavors, Mr. Khan's fundraising efforts have raised thousands of dollars to aid disaster victims and concierges in need through Les Clefs d'Or's Foundation of the Americas and Les Clefs d'Or USA's Relief Fund.

Mr. Khan resides in Washington, DC, with his wife Linda and their two sons.
