Sawgrass Marriott Appoints Four to Management

July 15, 2013 - The Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, has announced the appointments of four talented professionals to the sales and service teams. Each appointee arrived in time for the summer season at Florida's premier golf destination resort, which recently launched a resort-wide "refresh" encompassing accommodations, meeting space and other facilities across the property.

Robin Camp , Wedding and Event Specialist
Bringing wide experience in planning, executing and managing events, Robin Camp has been appointed Wedding and Event Specialist at Sawgrass Marriott. She joined the resort following two years as Conference Services Manager at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, which on top of 5 Diamonds earned the Pinnacle Award from Successful Meetings and the Gold Key Award from Meetings and Conventions during Camp's tenure. Previously, Camp was with One Ocean Resort Hotel and Spa in Jacksonville, starting as Front Office Manager and departing four years later as Catering Services Manager. While at One Ocean Resort Hotel and Spa, she received a local award for the "Top Wedding Planner," and her weddings we published in magazines including Jacksonville Luxury Living Magazine, Jacksonville Magazine and Destination Weddings. She also spent time as Catering Director and Event Planner with Embassy Suites Hotel and Danielle's Restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina. Camp is from Dallas, TX and has extensive volunteer and community service experience - from being the largest fundraiser for the Junior League of Jacksonville to President of the Parent Teacher Association of Greenland Pines Twin Lake Academy Middle School in Jacksonville.

NaSheba Prentis , Group Sales Manager
Having spent her entire career in Florida, NaSheba Prentis has been appointed Group Sales Manager by Sawgrass Marriott with a focus on implementing innovative strategies to increase business from group, corporate and special event clientele within the Southeast market. Prior to joining the resort, Prentis was Regional Sales Manager at the Marriott Florida Group Sales Office, managing group and catering-related opportunities for the Florida region. Previously she was an Account Executive at Courtyard Miami Coconut Grove & Springhill Suites Miami Airport East; Marketing and Sales Coordinator at Marriott International overseeing Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Market Sales; Group Housing & Rooms Coordinator for Renaissance Plantation Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale; and a Reservations Sales Agent at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, also in Ft. Lauderdale. A native of U.S. Virgin Islands, Prentis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Florida Memorial University.

Belinda Cottrell , CPCE, CHS, Event Management Manager
Highly accomplished through close to three decades in the hotel and resort industry - much of it in Ponte Vedra Beach - Belinda Cottrell has joined Sawgrass Marriott as Event Manager. She arrived from The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra, a 4-Diamond resort where she was in the Director of Conference and Catering Services since 2007. Previously, Cottrell was Special Events Manager at the luxury 5-Diamond Ponte Vedra Inn & Club; Catering Sales Manager at the Jacksonville Marriott in nearby Jacksonville; and Assistant General Manager at Chatham Beach & Tennis Club way up north in Massachusetts. Born and raised the United Kingdom, Cottrell earned a degree in Business & Hospitality Management from Weston College in Weston-Super-Mare, England and studied at the Marriott National Sales Revenue & Event Management School at Marriott World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Donald Bostic , Golf Sales Manager
A highly motivated sales manager with more than five years of specialized experience in the golf industry, Donald Bostic was brought on as a Golf Sales Manager to focus on enhancing exposure of focuses his talents on drawing business to Sawgrass Marriott's main draw - direct access to the venerable PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, along with four other additional courses nearby. Bostic joined Sawgrass Marriott following three successful years as National Sales Manager at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Prior to jumping into the sales arena, he spent five years fine-tuning customer services skills and knowledge of the game as a Certified Professional Caddie and Trainer with CaddieMaster Enterprises. The position led him to work "in the most beautiful office in the world," including TPC Sawgrass, Sea Island, and Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. Bostic got his start as General Manager of Gene's Seafood Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach. Born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in History and Political Science from the University of North Florida.
