White Lodging Names New General Managers for Ten Properties

Properties Include Hotels in Texas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky

MERRILLVILLE, IN - June 18, 2013 - White Lodging is pleased to announce the following individuals have been named general managers within the last month across the company.

David Malmberg has been promoted to general manager of the Courtyard and Residence Inn Austin Downtown Convention Center properties. Prior to joining White Lodging in 2011, Malmberg spent nine years in St. Kitts, West Indies. During that time he was the director of restaurant and bar operations, director of catering operations and a sales executive with Marriott. Additionally, Malmberg had success with his own beach bar while on the island. Other Marriott experience includes being the restaurant general manager for the Mansion Restaurant in Lexington, Ky. and assistant restaurant manager for the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.

"A great hotel is more than just fluffy beds. It is a destination, a home away from home, and the crescendo where a guest's expectation meets with our associate's anticipation. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work with the talented associates who make this downtown Austin location more than just a great hotel," said Malmberg.

Anna Long has been promoted to general manager of the Courtyard Boulder/Louisville property in Colorado. Long is a 14-year White Lodging veteran and started her career as a guest service representative at the Courtyard Boulder/Louisville. She then worked her way into her first management role as housekeeping manager at the same hotel. Long has since held positions as front desk manager at the SpringHill Suites Westminster, assistant general manager and general manager at the Courtyard Boulder Longmont and most recently as general manager at the Residence Inn Golden. This position marks her third general manager position.

"I am very excited for this opportunity with White Lodging," said Long. "This particular position is very meaningful to me as it has been a personal goal of mine to obtain since I began my management career. I look forward to returning to my home base."

Lou DeMarchi has been promoted to general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn of Warrenville, Ill. Previously, DeMarchi was the general manager at the Courtyard Chicago Midway Airport, where he led the property through a 3.5 million dollar renovation. DeMarchi also served as the first assistant manager at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Lombard, Ill., where he was responsible for overseeing all operational departments of the property and helped managed the conversion property form the original Amerisuites Hotel to a Hyatt Place.

"I am looking forward to learning a new market and brand, as well as having the opportunity to lead another team of professionals towards our goals," said DeMarchi.

Steve Garcia has been promoted to general manager of the Residence Inn in Fishers, Ind. Previously, Garcia was a regional bench assistant general manager at Courtyard Goshen. Prior to his experience at the Courtyard Goshen, he served as the food and beverage manager at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond, Ind. As food and beverage manager, Garcia worked with the general manager in organizing, directing and coordinating staff and resources to help open the Courtyard Bistro Restaurant. Garcia has held multiple White Lodging operations positions in Indiana including operations manager and cluster sales manager.

"I am looking forward to enhancing the guest experience, providing a positive workplace for team members and driving results for the management team and ownership group," said Garcia.

Joe Garcia has been promoted to general manager at the Fairfield Inn & Suites San Antonio Downtown/Market Square. Previously, Garcia was the operations manager and assistant general manager at the Residence Inn Houston/Sugarland. As operations manager and assistant general manager at Residence Inn Houston/Sugarland, Garcia operated the hotel during a full renovation and provided leadership for sixteen associates. Prior to joining White Lodging, Garcia managed front desk services as a guest service representative for the London West Hollywood in Hollywood, Calif.

Kumar Anne has been promoted to general manager of the Renaissance Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation. Previously, Anne was the resident manager at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indiana. Anne comes into his new promotion with extensive food and beverage experience, and has held a number of management positions during his career, including director of room services at the Ritz-Carlton in Boston, director of food and beverage for the Central Park Inter-Continental Hotel and the director of food and beverage at the Grand Lido Braco in Jamaica. Prior to joining White Lodging in 2011, Anne was the general manger for the Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon, N. Y.

Jesse Loose has been promoted to general manager of the Residence Inn Golden in Colorado. Loose is a nine-year veteran of White Lodging and has most recently served as assistant general manager at the SpringHill Suites Westminster. Loose started his hospitality career with the Denver Marriott West at the front desk and worked his way into sales during his three-year tenure at the hotel. He joined White Lodging in 2004 as a cluster sales manager for the Residence Inn & Courtyard Golden followed by six years in regional revenue management as an inventory revenue manager and revenue manager prior to taking his assistant general manager position in 2012.

"Having been with White Lodging since 2006, I'm very excited to accept the position of the general manager at the Residence Inn Denver West/Golden," said Loose. "I'm looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await me, and expect great things!"

Jason Bargar has been named general manager of the Homewood Suites Brandon in Tampa, Fla. He previously served as general manager for the SpringHill Suites Grand Junction in Colorado, which opened as a new hotel in 2011. He recruited and trained over eight new members of the guest service team, an executive housekeeper and bar personnel. Bargar has served as general manager and dual general manager for various hotels. Bargar graduated from Colorado Mesa University in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in travel and commercial recreational management.

"I am excited to join White Lodging and the Homewood Brandon/Tampa team," said Bargar. "I am ready to do what I can to help our team be successful."

Ryan Frederick has been promoted to dual general manager of the Courtyard and Residence Inn Houston Downtown/Convention Center. Previously, he was the general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco Airport. Frederick began his career with White Lodging in 2006 as a Marriott restaurant manager in Michigan and has held multiple positions across the country during his time with White lodging. Prior to serving as general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco, Frederick served as general manager in several locations, including Tampa, Fla. and Saratoga Springs, N. Y.

Deborah Stevens has been promoted to dual general manager for the SpringHill Suites/Fairfield Inn and Suites in Downtown Louisville, Ky. Previously, Stevens was the dual assistant general manager for the Courtyard/SpringHill Suites in Downtown Indianapolis. During her time with White Lodging, Stevens has held a variety of roles at different hotels including serving as assistant general manager at a Courtyard by Marriott Louisville NE, general manager for Fairfield Inn Indianapolis Airport and general manager of Hilton Garden Inn in Annapolis, Md. As dual assistant general manager for the Courtyard and SpringHill Suites in Indianapolis, Stevens was in charge of day-to-day operations of two hotels, totaling 453 sleeping rooms.
