Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Names Dietmar Salat as Director of Operations
WAIKOLOA, HAWAII - April 18, 2012 - Dietmar Salat has been appointed director of operations for the 555-room Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Hawaii island.
With more than 32 years of hotel industry experience, I m confident in Dietmar s ability to conduct the day-to-day hotel operations and associate relations, said Bill Countryman, general manager of both Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Hawaii Island and Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Maui.
Salat started his Marriott International career in 1980 as chef de cuisine at the Key Bridge Marriott in Virginia. He worked his way up the ranks from chef de cuisine, executive chef to director of food and beverage at several Marriott International branded hotels and resorts, including properties in Washington D.C., Hong Kong, London, Austria, Singapore, and South Korea. In 2002, Salat was the director of operations and acting general manager at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort on Maui.
Salat is the recipient of numerous Marriott International company awards including Executive Chef of the Year and Chef of the Year at Vienna Marriott in Austria.
Salat is a native of Austria and resides in Hawaii with his wife and family.
