Edward Linsley Named Resort Manager, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay
May 5, 2011 - A seasoned industry professional, with more than two decades of senior hotel and resort experience, Four Seasons veteran Edward Linsley in his first Asia posting marks new milestones bridging continents in his growth with the company which began in 1990 with Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia and most recently with Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay, Hawaii as Resort Manager.
A native of Pennsylvania, Linsley brings an infectious enthusiasm and passion for excellence in all that he undertakes having rose steadily through the ranks with stellar performance and thereafter assuming various food and beverage management roles at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, Four Seasons Hotel Dublin and Four Seasons Resort Nevis where he assumed the responsibilities for all aspects of food and beverage operation, including the management of catering, culinary, purchasing and staff recruitment.
With an energy and perseverance unlike many, Linsley constantly aims to keep ahead and completed a broad range of advanced training hospitality programmes attaining a certificate in Financial Management: Operations Decision Making from Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, thus further enriching his acumen and versatility in the management and leadership of hospitality beyond the scope of Food & Beverage operation and soon after in 2007, was promoted to Hotel Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Houston.
Charming and warm, Linsley's personable character and leadership style are well embraced and respected by the employees and throughout his tenure has always served to boost staff morale and improve staff efficiency. Linsley enjoys working with others; his set of values and loyalty towards work and strength at building relationships makes him a good mentor and gifted trainer.
Primarily responsible for overseeing the resort's day-to-day operations, Linsley works closely with the resort's food and beverage, spa, concierge, front office, engineering and human resource teams on the continued development and execution of new focuses. In charge of all brand standards, standard operating procedures, minimum quality standards; all service-related division and department heads will report to him. Fueled by a passion to provide the ultimate customer experience, Linsley has a keen sense of guests' needs and responds accordingly. His commitment to deliver the highest quality of service gives each property he touches a competitive edge.
Linsley maintains an active and passionate focus on community welfare and is a long standing member of the World Affairs Council, an organisation dedicated to engaging people on matters of national and international significance. In Bali where he is now based, Linsley serves as an active resort representative member on the Bali Hotel Association advisory committee. A selfless Samaritan, Linsey's private time is devoted to community focused activities including the resort's Muntigunung village project in collaboration with an independent non-profit organisation, Verein Zukunft fur Kinder.
With an insatiable appetite for world cultures, Linsey has already begun assimilating himself to the local life and traditions of Bali discovering the island on his bike and through his camera lens. An individual that celebrates life, this outdoor enthusiast, bonvivant, art aficionado's interests include skydiving, sailing, travel, photography cooking and collecting art
