Multicultural Leader to Assure Quality and Evolution
Bangkok, Thailand - 1 June 2010 - The Conrad Bangkok announced the appointment of Jean-Philippe Joye as the hotel's new Director of Food and Beverages. A Frenchman with exposure across continents, Jean-Philippe will innovate and direct new approaches to operational management of Conrad Bangkok's 4 leading restaurants and 2 premier bars as well as the hotel's catering services and functions.
Jean-Philippe brings along with him over 20 years of multi-cultural experience in bars and restaurants management. Throughout his experiences in finest outlets around the region, Jean-Philippe's passion for quality is evident and widely recognized through his contributions in various hotels, restaurants, and different resorts worldwide.
Having held positions at Club Mediterranee in over 14 different resorts, Singapore's Mandarin Hotel and Park Hyatt Tokyo, the F&B veteran recently led the team of F&B in Raffles Hotel Singapore where he also took charge in organizing F1 Singapore Grand Prix's F&B operations. A holder of International Higher Certificate in Wines and Spirits, Jean-Philippe applied his expertise in wine through his involvement in the Wine, Food, and Art Experience, which featured Michelin-starred chefs in Singapore and planned on bringing systematic wine education to Thailand, specifically among the staff of the Conrad Bangkok and its sister hotels.
Venturing into a new territory, Jean-Philippe has big plans with outlets around the Conrad Bangkok. Leveraging on his French heritage, Jean-Philippe is working with Executive Chef Denis Lartigue to lead the renovation of the Cafe@2 into becoming the first Thai-French Brasserie in Bangkok. Another one of Jean-Philippe's ambitions for the Conrad Bangkok is to rekindle its Club 87 Plus with new fire, starting from this summer onwards.
“I am delighted to be back in Thailand after my first experience in Phuket, 20 years ago, in particular, working for such a beautiful property as the Conrad Bangkok”, said Jean-Philippe, “I am looking forward to working alongside an experienced F&B team to further extend the Hotel's pursuit for excellence and quality in all areas.” Jean-Philippe has the eye for detail and abundant passion to fuel the creative evolution which is underway at Conrad Bangkok.
