Holiday Inn Denver and John Q. Hammons Complete Four-year $10 million Makeover

Hammons Convention Center have completed a four-year, nearly $10 million makeover. The extensive renovation's $4 million final phase concentrated on improvements to the hotel's guestrooms, bathrooms, atrium and ballroom. The 256-room hotel and adjoining convention center are owned and managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC, the nation's leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites. The property sports the title of the largest Holiday Inn convention hotel in the world.

The property's extensive $10 million renovation kicked off four years ago with significant upgrades to the John Q. Hammons Convention Center, including a new state-of-the-art sound system and attractive new carpets. The most recent renovations at the AAA Three Diamond Award recipient Holiday Inn Denver International Airport included:
-- Updating d'ecor of all guestrooms and bathrooms to feature Mission-style furniture, artwork depicting a touch of the West, complemented by a color palate of gold and burgundy; replacing items such as mattress, duvet cover, draperies, light features, wall vinyl, mirrors and artwork, shower curtains/shower rods and tub surface
-- Beautifying the exterior landscape, including adding a new irrigation system and plants indigenous to Colorado such as aspen, blue spruce and burning bush
Enhancing the hotel's dramatic atrium with new lighting and foliage
-- Improving the hotel's ballroom with new carpet, wall vinyl and artwork
