Don Maclachlan Appointed Resort Manager Outback Vernon, BC

APRIL 16, 2008. Boutique Hotels & Resorts of British Columbia is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Maclachlan as resort manager for the soon to open Outback Resort in Vernon, British Columbia. Set to open in May 2008, The Outback will be Okanagan's first and only waterfront vacation home resort rental community. Maclachlan will manage the overall operations and sales and marketing for the resort.

With over 20 years of resort experience, Maclachlan brings with him a wide scope of expertise in the tourism industry. Maclachlan started his tourism career at Silver Star Mountain Resort in Vernon, British Columbia where he worked his way up from ski school director to director of resort services and finishing off as director of sales and marketing. Maclachlan also spent time at Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna as the director of skiing. Most recently, Maclachlan held the position of general manager at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Club in Huntsville, Ontario.

An avid outdoorsman, Maclachlan and his family were excited to make the move back to the Okanagan. "Having lived in the area for so many years, I have truly come to enjoy the year round activities and the many opportunities that the region offers," says Don Maclachlan, resort manager for The Outback.
