Peter Szekely Appointed Director of Restaurants at Premier Beachfront Resort
JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa welcomes accomplished hospitality professional Peter Szekely to lead its acclaimed dining program as Director of Restaurants. Szekely will oversee all culinary operations for the resort's diverse dining venues, including the newly reimagined Latitude 28, the casual beachfront ESKAPE, and the rooftop restaurant and bar, The Deep End.
Szekely brings over a decade of experience in luxury food and beverage operations. Most recently, he served as Director of Restaurants at W Hotel Aspen in Colorado, managing a dynamic $8 million F&B operation. Prior to this, he led the food and beverage program at W Hotel Ibiza, where he oversaw restaurant rebranding, launched a successful pizza pop-up, and executed high-profile events. His previous roles include Director of Food and Beverage at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel in Mallorca, Spain, and Food & Beverage Manager at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, The Bahamas. Known for managing large teams, developing innovative F&B concepts, and driving profitability, Szekely is also an expert in beverage and cocktail programs.

At JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, Szekely will focus on elevating the guest experience across the resort's distinct dining destinations. This includes overseeing the newly reimagined Latitude 28, the resort's signature restaurant. Latitude 28 now invites guests on a unique coastal culinary adventure, showcasing modern Florida cuisine with the finest Gulf Coast flavors. Helmed by Executive Chef Inder Suryawanshi, the refreshed menu features dishes like Freshly Caught Florida Black Grouper, Whipped Feta & Heirloom Beets, Modern Butter Chicken, and Florida Wildflower Honey-Glazed Duck Breast, all served within a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the Clearwater shoreline.
Szekely holds a Hospitality Management degree from Cornell University. Outside of work, he enjoys beach outings, discovering new restaurants and bars, and expanding his expertise in wines and spirits. Guided by a "work hard, play harder" philosophy, Szekely brings his passion for storytelling through flavor to every dining experience he creates.
