Jeffery Young Joins Watermark Beach Resort as Executive Chef

Watermark Beach Resort is pleased to welcome Jeffery Young as executive chef at the Osoyoos resort.

Young brings a wealth of experience gained over three decades in the hospitality sector, spanning renowned establishments across Canada, including positions at the Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels, and acclaimed wineries such as Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Young's culinary career has humble beginnings, with his first position as a kitchen dishwasher at a suburban Vancouver country club, where he was inspired to pursue Vancouver Community College's Culinary Arts program immediately after high school.

"Osoyoos is home to a number of gastronomic innovations, and I am excited to create unforgettable dining experiences that highlight the incredible bounty of this region. Building on the strong culinary team and crafting memorable moments for our guests, whether they are dining on the patio at 15 Park or attending an event in our conference centre, will be my top priorities," said Jeffery Young.

Young brings his creativity and passion for showcasing local ingredients, developed during his tenure as Chef de Partie and Executive Chef, to his new role leading the Watermark Beach Resort culinary team. Young's accolades include the British Columbia Chefs' Association (BCCA) Chef of the Year award in 2009 as well as multiple gold medals with the Culinary Team Canada at the World Culinary Olympics. In September 2016, he accepted the two-year position of President on the BCCA Board.

Young's appointment as executive chef marks a new chapter for Watermark Beach Resort, promising guests an exceptional dining experience amidst the stunning landscape of Osoyoos.
