USA, Islamorada, Florida. March 01, 2024

The Islands of Islamorada, a breathtaking oceanfront residential-style resort located in the upper Florida Keys, is pleased to announce the newly created Coastal Concierge role, led by Mary Silvester who brings a wealth of experience and passion for ocean conservation. This innovative position was created to offer guests direct access to ocean education and immersive marine life exploration experiences. In this Coastal Concierge role, Silvester and The Islands team are thrilled to align with the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF), a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of marine environments worldwide.

"With The Islands' strong commitment to sustainability and creating exceptional guest experiences, we are delighted to welcome Mary Silvester as our new Coastal Concierge," said Morag Koerner, Co-General Manager of The Islands of Islamorada, "Welcoming Mary and launching our new partnership with REEF further establishes the resort's commitment to sustainability, while also creating meaningful eco-conscious experiences for our guests, which we take pride in."

Working closely with REEF, Silvester will collaborate on creating educational ocean experiences and tours tailored to each guest's interests and passions. These experiences will include guided snorkeling and scuba diving excursions, during which guests can actively participate in fish monitoring and species counting under the guidance of knowledgeable REEF guides.

"I'm honored to join The Islands of Islamorada team as we share a deep passion for the destination and drawing awareness to its unique coastal ecosystem," said Mary Silvester, Coastal Concierge at The Islands of Islamorada. "This dynamic role provides me the opportunity to curate exciting eco-tour experiences for our guests, while also inspiring environmental awareness and love for the ocean with them. I look forward to making a difference in our community and beyond."

Additionally, The Islands will introduce a weekly coffee chat series for guests. These engaging sessions, arranged by Silvester as Coastal Concierge and REEF, will feature discussions and research presentations on various topics related to marine life and conservation efforts. This will provide guests with an opportunity to learn from experts and gain a deeper understanding of the delicate ecosystem surrounding Islamorada.
