LXR Transforming Sheraton Into the New Key Largo Grande

. October 14, 2008

KEY LARGO, FL, September 21, 2006. After finalizing its acquisition of the Sheraton Beach Resort Key Largo, LXR Luxury Resorts today announced a $7 million capital investment program to enhance the picturesque waterfront property as the new Key Largo Grande Resort & Beach Club.

"We have committed to an extensive refurbishment with intent to bring the resort to its full potential as a classic, tropical retreat," said LXR Luxury Resorts president Jean-Jacques Pergant. "Creative new interiors will highlight the property's pristine location, resulting in the Key Largo Grande Resort & Beach Club redefining the Keys' luxury market and establishing our resort as a cornerstone of excellence for both group and leisure travel."

Renowned designer Looney and Associates has been hand-selected to orchestrate the transformation of the Key Largo Grande, based on their design philosophies that focus on creating spaces that are both stunning and acutely functional.

The goal of the aggressive capital investments in the Key Largo Grande is to help realize its true potential and convey the innate personality of the property, including a strong sense of place, an across-the-board upgrade in services and amenities, and a return to its original "DNA," albeit reinterpreted for the 21st century traveler. "We aim to respect the integrity and unique offerings the Key Largo Grande has to offer," said Pergant, "and will strive to heighten its distinct personality while offering our guests an unfailing commitment to excellence and a consistent, highly personalized standard of service."

Ensconced in hardwood forestry and situated on the Gulf of Mexico, the Key Largo Grande is perfect for discovering the natural wonder of the Florida Keys. The resort offers 190 guest rooms, each with private balcony, and 10 expansive suites; a 21-slip boat marina and docking facility; a private beach; and over 10,000 square feet of versatile function space.

"The new LXR affiliation will allow us to emphasize our unique locale and conviviality that continues to bring guests back to the resort time and again," said Bill Hofmann, general manager. "We look forward to enhancing the Key Largo Grande to the extent that it enhances the extraordinary destination, while setting the benchmark for style and service." Hofmann is one of Florida's leading hotel executives with more than 20 years of experience in the hotel industry. Most recently, he was general manager for both the Marriott Hotel Ventura Beach, Ventura, Ca., and the Radisson Hotel Princeton, Princeton, N.J.
