Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Adds Tiffany Cooper, Senior Vice President and Dan Thorman, Vice President to Growing Development Team for the Americas
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced today two new additions to their rapidly growing development team, Tiffany Cooper, Senior Vice President of Development and Dan Thorman, Vice President of Development. In their respective positions, Cooper and Thorman will be responsible for the brand's overall growth strategy and the expansion of Kimpton's development pipeline across the Americas. They join a robust team, led by Chief Development Officer Allison Reid. Other recent additions to the development team include Charlotte Giovanni, Vice President of Development and David Ruger, Senior Director of Development.
“Tiffany and Dan will help expand our footprint at a time where demand for Kimpton's unique boutique offering is at an all-time high,” said Reid. “Their extensive industry background and deep owner relationships will be instrumental in elevating our product and strategically strengthening our offering.”
With over 20 years of experience, Cooper is a veteran of the hospitality industry with a strong connection to the Kimpton brand, having started her career in sales and hotel operations for Kimpton in 1995. Cooper joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1999, working first in hotel operations before transitioning to the Real Estate Development Group for Starwood in 2005, where she grew the hotel's portfolio throughout the Western United States. In 2016, Cooper joined Marriott International's development team as Vice President of Lodging Development, focusing on full service and luxury hotel growth. Now, coming full circle, Cooper will be leading strategic growth initiatives for the brand including new markets, new products, and development partner outreach. In addition, Cooper will oversee development activity in the Western U.S. and Latin America.
Thorman also hails from Starwood and Marriott, spending 12 years at the company in roles ranging from development operations analyst to Vice President of Development for the Full Service & Luxury Brands in the Eastern U.S. in his new role, Thorman will focus on expanding Kimpton's footprint in the Northeastern US and Canada.
Cooper has a Bachelor's degree in Communications & Public Relations from California State University, Hayward and is currently working toward her Master of Business Administration Hospitality Degree at Johnson & Wales University. She resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband and three children.
Thorman has a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Lehigh University and resides in Manhattan.
