M"ovenpick Appoints Annette Hammer as GM, Hotel Hamburg

HAMBURG, Germany, September 19, 2006. Annette Hammer has been appointed General Manager of the M"ovenpick Hotel Hamburg, which is due to open officially in spring 2007. She is to be assisted by Kathrin Wirth-Uebersch"ar, who will be in charge of Marketing and Sales. Both have many years of experience in their respective areas of responsibility and are familiar with Hamburg's hotel market. They recently moved in to the pre-opening office in Hamburg.

Annette Hammer, who was born in Peine, has worked in Hamburg for 19 years. The hotel-trade specialist began as head housekeeper in 1987 at the then newly opened Forte Crest Hotel Hamburg. Thereafter she was Rooms Division Manager for two years at the Grand Hotel Nuremberg before returning to Hamburg in 1992 to run the Forte Crest Hotel Hamburg as General Manager for four years. At her last appointment she held the position of General Manager at the Best Western Queens Hotel Hamburg. Annette Hammer has been President of the SKAL Club Hamburg since 1993 and works in an honorary capacity for DEHOGA, the German Hotel and Catering Association, as well as the examination board at the Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg.

Kathrin Wirth-Uebersch"ar was born in Schwerin and studied hotel & catering in the Black Forest region. She began her sales career in 1993 as Sales Representative at the Madison Hotel D"usseldorf, followed by three years as Director of Sales at the Palace Hotel Berlin. In 1998 she moved to Hamburg. Initially she took up the post of Director of Sales & Marketing at the Kempinski Hotel Atlantic Hamburg before taking over the management of the Gutshaus Stolpe. Her most recent appointment was at the Royal Meridien Hamburg, where she was Director of Sales & Marketing for four years.
