May 1, 2014 - Denver's Sage Hospitality, one of the nation's top hotel investment and management companies, has named Frederick J. Kleisner II as the Area Managing Director overseeing The Oxford Hotel and the new 112-room Crawford Hotel, an independent hotel opening in Denver's revitalized Union Station this July.

The Crawford Hotel - opening on July 12th - is also now taking reservations at www.thecrawfordhotel.com.

Room rates at The Crawford will start at $289 per night for a Pullman-style room, which was designed to reflect a modern take on the glamorous private sleeping cars. Other room types include Classic rooms, which are inspired by the building's Victorian era beginning, and the contemporary Loft rooms in the building's former attic, which feature exposed wood timbers and high vaulted ceilings.

A fifth-generation hotelier with 23 years experience at the upper end of the industry, Kleisner brings a lifetime of knowledge and experience to The Oxford and Crawford hotels. Prior to coming to Denver, Kleisner opened and spent six years as the General Manager of Portland's award-winning the Nines, a Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel that is also managed by Sage Hospitality.

“We are thrilled to have Fred's strong leadership skills as we prepare to open The Crawford this summer,” said Sage Hospitality President and CEO Walter Isenberg. “He has exhibited tremendous leadership in all aspects of luxury hotel operations, enabling him to effectively identify traveler needs, understand market trends and formulate innovative changes to maintain and grow market share. He also has a unique understanding of what it takes to open a highly anticipated hotel like The Crawford.”

Prior to opening and operating the Nines, Portland Oregon, Kleisner oversaw the opening of The Empire Hotel, a swanky, 413-room property in New York. He also previously spent six years with Wyndham International, including the management of The Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride and The El San Juan Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico, a Wyndham “trophy location” boasting 382 guest rooms and luxury suites, 15 food and beverage outlets and 10 retail outlets. Each property experienced revenue and profitability growth under his leadership, while The El San Juan and The Peaks also achieved and maintained coveted AAA 4 Diamond status.

Blessed with an inborn passion for hospitality, Kleisner holds a Bachelor's of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Located in the heart of Denver's LoDo district, The Oxford Hotel was featured on Conde Nast Traveler's 2014 Gold List as one of the “511 Best Places on Earth.” The 80-room historic property features 10,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting space, the iconic Cruise Room martini bar, McCormick's Fish House and Bar and the Oxford Club, Spa & Salon.

When it opens in July, The Crawford Hotel - which is across the street from The Oxford Hotel - will also offer 3,000 square feet of meeting space and a fitness center. The new Union Station will feature an amazing mix of more than a dozen Colorado-based retailers and restaurants, including Mercantile Dining & Provision by Chef Alex Seidel and Stoic & Genuine by Chef Jennifer Jasinski, the Kitchen Next Door and Snooze, an A.M. Eatery
