Cicero's Completes Reno of Wyndham Houston

March 13, 2014 - Ciceroʼs Development Corporation, a full-service renovations contractor, has completed the interior stage of its multi-million dollar renovation of the Wyndham Houston - Medical Center Hotel and Suites.

"Although this was an extensive, multi-stage renovation, we take special pride in that the Wyndham was able to keep its doors open during the entire process with little or no disruption to its normal operations," said Sam Cicero, Jr., the company's president. "We carefully schedule work to assure guests are not bothered in any way by construction; in fact, most don't even know it's going on."

Undertaken six months ago, the property-wide renovation is a complete revamp of the hotel's 287 guestrooms, as well as all common areas. In addition, the hotel's Main Street Bar & Grill received a refurbishing complete with new carpeting and artwork.

The lobby now features modern tile work, a more elegant front desk, while corridors were refreshed with new wallpaper, carpeting, acoustic ceiling tiles and sconces.

Guestrooms offer amenities such as HD flat screen televisions, along with new furnishings, fixtures, linens and lighting. The list of room improvements include custom millwork panels that serve as closet doors and modern artwork with lacquered black frames. Orange peel texture paint finishes were applied to walls, a design detail that embodies the more urban, upscale mood Wyndham was seeking for its Houston property, according to the company.

Cicero's deployed fire sprinklers and other life safety systems throughout the building, along with adding an ADA counter at the front desk.

Located in the heart of Texas, with convenient access to Houston's Medical Center District, the Wyndham Houston was built in 1981 and last renovated in 2007. Final exterior work is scheduled for the spring.
