San Juan Marriott Welcomes Joaquin Cruz as DoSM
Brings 20+ Years of Marketing Experience Back to San Juan
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO - November 11, 2013 - The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has appointed Joaquin Cruz as director of sales and marketing, bringing his career full circle as his first Marriott position began in 1998 as a sales manager at the San Juan Marriott. Cruz will be responsible for developing and implementing the property's sales strategies, leading staff marketing and communications activities, and maximizing revenue generation.

Cruz returns to the San Juan Marriott most recently by way of the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort, where he spent the last three years as director of sales and marketing. Prior to that he served as the director of sales and marketing at multiple Marriott properties including the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino (2001-2005), Miami Airport Marriott (2005-2010) and the Renaissance La Concha Resort & Casino in Puerto Rico.

A native of Puerto Rico, Cruz received his bachelor's degree in hospitality from Purdue University, Indiana.
