November 1, 2013 - Westin Kansas City at Crown Center has capped off a two-year, $22 million renovation with the completion of Tangent™ at Westin, an innovative, flexible workspace that meets the changing needs of today's mobile business traveler. Reinventing the small meetings model, Westin's Tangent™ was specifically designed to accommodate impromptu meetings through a technology-driven smart room where the amenities enhance the group's meeting experience and productivity.

Available to guests, local Kansas City businesses and beyond, the 260-square-foot room accommodates small groups of four to six and can be booked at a moment's notice and for as little as one hour.

Tangent™ Offerings

The fully-wired workspace features media:scape by Steelcase technology so participants can access and share digital information quickly and seamlessly. Video conferencing connects teams locally or globally and Xbox 360®, TVs, printers and sound systems are also available. Other Tangent™ hallmarks include floor-to-ceiling white boards, fully stocked office supplies, snacks, free wireless Internet and flexible power outlets throughout the space allowing devices to power up regardless of location. The room can be booked for $100 an hour.

The Westin brand's design team worked to create a space that consists of communal, interactive and individual work zones. The room's decor pulls from the brand's nature inspiration to create the color palate for the space and large-scale wall mural. Based on colors found in minerals and crystals, the room's neutral base of grey, with accents of amber, emerald and sapphire blue help to create a calm yet cooperative work setting.
