Hotel Icona Diamond Beach Opens in New Jersey

A Resurrected 1970's Beach Property,

. August 09, 2013

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ - August 9, 2103 - Resurrected and reinvented from a 1970's beach hotel, Hotel Icona Diamond Beach is the first ultra-luxury, all-suites resort to actually sit on a private New Jersey beach.

"This hotel is breathtaking. Team Achristavest hit a Grand Slam on style & comfort. It's as beautiful as a Miami South Beach resort hotel, dropped into Cape May County," says Pat Croce, restaurateur and former owner of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Families will find Hotel Icona nestled in Diamond Beach, an ideal location perfect to take advantage of the largest collection of amusement rides outside of Orlando, yet private enough to please those looking to recharge their batteries and fuel their souls.

"Because of our location - we're just north of historic Cape May and just minutes south of The Wildwoods - the opportunities for our guests are virtually limitless," says Eustace Mita, CEO of Icona Investment Group and Achristavest. "We eagerly embraced the challenge to imagine what the ultimate hotel guest experience could be. Hotel Icona Diamond Beach is truly unrepeatable."

Beginning with the box-like design of the former hotel, Achristavest - the world-renowned developer of exclusive waterfront resort experiences and private homes -created a property that blends in with its environment and natural surroundings.

Going against the bigger-is-better trend, Achristavest took the 120 cookie-cutter hotel rooms and pared them down to 108 individual luxury suites complete with full kitchens, uniquely designed sitting rooms and other amenities rarely found in other hotels.

"We essentially kept the outer walls of the original building and created a completely new ultra-luxurious facility behind them that bares no trace of its former life," Mita says proudly. "And naturally, we totally changed the exterior look of the property. And it's the only facility of its kind along New Jersey's hundreds of miles of shorelines that sits on its own 425-foot private beach.

The Achristavest team of architects, builders and designs by HGTV and The Travel Channel's Blanche Garcia, carefully studied everything from sunrises to sunsets, sweeping starlit skies and even the movements of the ocean's tides before developing plans for Hotel Icona Diamond Beach.

"This project was exciting for us at B. garcia designs," says Blanche Garcia, "because we immediately saw the strong mid-century architecture in the building. The celebration of this architecture is seen perfectly in the boutique hotels of Palm Springs. We wanted a more relaxed interpretation, which we were able to achieve with design elements found in chic Miami's South Beach." Garcia adds, "Hotel Icona Diamond Beach was our way of bringing these iconic designs to the Jersey Shore."

Guests will be immediately drawn to Coastal Blue Oceanside Grill with elegant dining in a casual atmosphere with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus created and supervised by celebrity chef Al Paris, whose 30-year culinary career is obvious in every detail.

And, should your first stay suddenly morph into a lifetime of visits, please ask about the exclusive and private beach weddings, family reunions, or group stays.

Hotel Icona Diamond Beach is owned by Achristavest and managed by Great American Hotel Group, recently named one of the top third party hotel management firms in the nation.
