Woodmark Hotel Appoints Howard Jacobs GM

June 24, 2013 - The Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa, located 15 minutes east of Seattle on the shores of Lake Washington at Carillon Point, is excited to announce the appointment of Howard Jacobs as general manager. In his new position, Jacobs will oversee all operations at the Woodmark Hotel and also assist Destination Hotels & Resorts on other assignments as needed.

Jacobs brings more than 25 years of experience in the hotel management industry to his role as general manager at the Woodmark. Most recently, Jacobs served a dual position with the Goodman Group in Albuquerque, N.M. as multi-unit development manager and general manager for the AAA Four Diamond - LEED Gold historic hotel, Hotel Andaluz. While there, Jacobs' focus on exemplary service and attention to detail produced significant improvements in profitability and recognition for the property.

In addition, Jacobs spent more than 10 years in Portland, Ore., including serving as president of the Provenance Hotels and as a principal for Continuum Consulting Group, a hospitality development and consulting firm focused on urban boutique hotels. Prior to Provenance Hotels, Jacobs served as the worldwide conference center manager for R.R. Donnelley across the United States, Europe and Asia and as general manager for the Alexis Hotel in Seattle and the Flamingo Hilton in Laughlin, Nev. Jacobs earned his bachelor's degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and completed the hotel professional development program at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
