The Pearl, The New Luxury Property on Florida's Emerald Coast, Appoints Executive Team

June 11, 2013 - The Pearl is pleased to announce the selection of a distinctive team to lead the new boutique, luxury resort opening on Florida's Emerald Coast July 2013. Appointments include Michael Votta to General Manager, Shelby Schuler to Director of Sales, Michael Guerra to Executive Chef and Sara Reese to Director of Restaurants.

General Manager, Michael Votta

Joining The Pearl as General Manager, Michael Votta brings over forty years of experience in hospitality management to the team. Votta's passion for the industry is evident throughout his impressive career and his well-rounded years of experience, including Associate Vice President of the Hawaii Convention & Visitors Bureau and Director of Resort Sales at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Most recently, Votta was Director of Sales, Corporate & Association at Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia.

Director of Sales and Marketing, Shelby Schuler
Bringing over sixteen years of hospitality sales experience, Shelby Schuler joins the Rosemary Beach property as Director of Sales and Marketing. Schuler is a designated inaugural member of Connect magazine's "40 Under 40" list, as one of 40 up-and-comers and future leaders recognized in the meetings industry. Prior to joining The Pearl, Schuler served as Group Sales Manager at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Regional Sales Manager at the Sandestin Hilton in Sandestin, Florida.

Executive Chef, Michael Guerra
Joining The Pearl as Executive Chef, Michael Guerra brings an impressive career and unique talent in the culinary arts to the luxury Florida resort. At The Pearl, Chef Guerra oversees the resort's two distinct restaurants, Havana Beach and Sol Luna, in-room dining, and banquet services. Guerra's previous experience includes The St. Regis Deer Crest and the Montage Deer Valley, both in Utah.

Director of Restaurants, Sara Reese
As Director of Restaurants at The Pearl, Sara Reese brings more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry. Reese is responsible for all food and beverage operations at The Pearl's two restaurants, Havana Beach and Sol Luna, as well as catering, room service and poolside dining. Most recently, Reese was the General Manager at Restaurant Paradis in Rosemary Beach, Florida.
