California Hotels Corporation to Open World's Largest Econo Lodge in Orlando, Florida

Open World Complete Property renovation and improvements will begin in June 2013 and be completed by October 2013

May 10, 2013 - California Hotels through its subsidiary, 8444 Investments LLC, will be converting The 297 room Metropolitan Resort to "The World's Largest Econo Lodge". The hotel is located at 8444 Austrian Court Way on the world renowned International Drive in Orlando, Florida.

The World's Largest Econo Lodge on International Drive will consist of a long list of amenities that are not normally seen in Econo Lodge hotels. The hotel will consist of 297 rooms with Kings or Double Bed accommodations, the hotel will also consist of a Full Delicatessen, Free Wi-Fi, coffee makers, refrigerators and iron and ironing boards inside all rooms. The Econo Lodge will also be connected to the YMCA Aquatic Center, which consists of three indoor pools, a large cardio fitness center, and four indoor racquetball courts. All guests of the hotel will receive complimentary access to the Aquatic Center during its hours of operations.

Complete Property renovation and improvements will begin in June 2013 and be completed by October 2013 in time for the Halloween Horror Nights. The hotel plans to stay open during renovations.
