. April 26, 2013

April 26, 2013 - On April 25th 2013, Heidelberg celebrated the topping out of the project “Kurfürsten Hof”, whose foundation stone was laid a little over nine months ago. Developers, architects, managers and the media gathered to witness the progress of the building that will soon house the newest Holiday Inn Express Hotel.

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel is due to receive its first guests by February of next year. The hotel operator Foremost Hospitality is developing this project together with the STRABAG Real Estate GmbH. This hotel will feature the brand signature offerings, with a breakfast area, a bar, a business centre as well as modern amenities in the guest rooms such as flat screen TVs, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and power showers. The hotel is designed and styled to appeal to business and leisure travelers, offering best-in-class service and comfort.

The Managing Director of Foremost Hospitality, Hubert van de Loo, attended the festivities and commented: “Heidelberg is an important city both culturally and economically. We are very delighted with the progress of this project and look forward to the completion.”

The hotels developer STRABAG Real Estate has worked on many projects throughout Germany. Martin Lauble, who is in charge of the new Holiday Inn Express hotel, stated: “The Kufürsten Hof will accommodate retail, office and living space as well as a day care center. The fact that Foremost Hospitality has secured the hotel spot in this development is a big success. We are pleased to be working with such a professional partner and hope to continue working with the group on their future endeavors throughout the country.”

Foremost Hospitality has a Franchise Agreement with the InterContinental Hotels Group to build 20 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Germany. Martin Bowen, Vice President of Development for Germany, has much respect for Foremost: “Foremost Hospitality is a very important franchise partner for IHG. They have developed our hotels in many German cities already and there are many more to come. It is wonderful to see how quickly they are progressing and I look forward to seeing many more topping out celebrations.”

Foremost Hospitality is planning hotels in German cities such as Düsseldorf, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Hannover and Cologne to name just a few.
