Hyatt Announces Appointment of Scott Mason as GM, The Driskill

AUSTIN, TX - April 12, 2013 - The Driskill , a recent addition to the Hyatt portfolio in Austin, Texas announces the appointment of Scott Mason as General Manager.

In his role, Mason will oversee operations for the 189-room property, located in the heart of downtown Austin. A 15-year Hyatt veteran, he arrives in Austin after most recently serving as General Manager for the AAA Four-Diamond Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. Mason also spent nearly five years as General Manager of Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, and led the Park Hyatt Chicago and the Stanhope Park Hyatt New York. He began his career with Hyatt in 1998 as Executive Housekeeper for the Grand Hyatt New York.

Mason's appointment marks a new era for The Driskill, acquired by Hyatt on March 8, 2013. Continuing to be marketed as The Driskill under the Hyatt Hotels & Resorts umbrella, the iconic property will undergo a two-year, approximately $8 million renovation to preserve its reputation as one of the most storied hotels in Texas.
