Rollins College and The Olympia Companies Appoint Deanne Gabel as GM of The Alfond Inn

Winter Park, FL - February 12, 2013 - Rollins College and The Olympia Companies announce the appointment of Deanne Gabel as general manager of The Alfond Inn, opening in Winter Park in August 2013.

Gabel has experience in several facets of the hospitality industry. Most recently, Gabel was a senior vice president with Wyndham Worldwide's Hospitality Division. She held several positions at Disney, most notably as general manager of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, as well as the Disney Institute and Resort Villas. Prior to her Orlando residency, Gabel held positions with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, and Intercontinental Hotels.

“I am thrilled to be part of the leadership of this remarkable project,” said Gabel. “The Alfond Inn is a unique property that has generated tremendous excitement, and I am looking forward to bringing my luxury service experience and leadership values to guests of The Alfond Inn, as well as to the Winter Park community. It is particularly rewarding that net profits generated from this project will be directed to a scholarship endowment for students of Rollins College, thanks to a generous contribution by the Alfond Foundation.”

Gabel received her MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business and has served on Crummer's Board of Overseers for several years.

The Alfond Inn, opening in August 2013, features 112 exquisitely appointed guest rooms and suites, 10,000 square feet of distinctive meeting and event space, a full-service restaurant and bar, and a well-appointed fitness room and elevated pool.
