Melia Hotel Atlanta Announces New Catering Team

ATLANTA, GA - January 22, 201 - Meliã Hotel Atlanta is pleased to announce new additions to its executive staff. Cyndi Willis has been appointed as Corporate Catering Manager and Valaisa “Cricket” Russell has been named as Social Catering Manager.

As Corporate Catering Manager, Cyndi Willis is responsible for all aspects of coordinating corporate events, meetings, trade shows and political or award ceremonies. Willis brings over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, starting her career in Corporate & Group Sales with General Investment & Development (GID) based in Boston, MA. She later joined Cornerstone Reality & Apple Suites in Virginia as their Corporate Sales & Marketing Manager for more than 90 properties in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. Willis' corporate planning skills include specializing in conferences, trade shows, seminars and day meetings. A dedicated member of the community, Willis orchestrates an annual homeless food drive and supports many area children's cancer charities.

Cricket Russell also has an extensive sales and catering career, working in the industry for over 17 years. Having begun her career with some of the area's most exclusive private country club event facilities such as Eagle's Landing and Country Club of the South, Russell moved into sales positions at The Standard Club and 200 Peachtree Special Events and Conference Center. She looks forward to her role at Meliã planning and executing all social related events to include weddings and any other social event or party from corporate gatherings to birthdays.
