Faces in New Places at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
July 9, 2012 - Fairmont is pleased to announce several recent management and supervisory-level appointments at its properties worldwide. These include:
Joining Fairmont is Michael A. Ganster , who has been appointed general manager, Fairmont Beijing. Bringing a great deal of experience to his new position, Ganster has worked in a series of progressive hospitality positions worldwide. He heads to Beijing from his most recent general manager position in Pattaya, Thailand.
Ken Hall , who takes on the role of hotel manager, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. With 20 years of hospitality experience, Hall brings a wide scope of industry knowledge to the hotel, gained during a career which has taken him around the world from Jasper Park, Canada to Fujiya, Japan.
James Bevans , who has been appointed hotel manager at the soon-to-open Fairmont Makati, Philippines. Heading south from his most recent post as director of operations, Fairmont Beijing, Bevans will oversee the daily management and operations at the hotel.
The Fairmont San Francisco appoints Matthew Blackmore to the role of hotel manager. Blackmore started his career as an accounting trainee at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto and has since moved through progressive roles within Fairmont.
Angie Clifton , who has been appointed hotel manager, The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston. Clifton brings extensive experience to her new role, having worked at Fairmonts across North America, most recently Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown.
Chris Stampe , who has been named regional director, sales & marketing, Pacific Northwest Region, and director, sales & marketing, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Stampe brings a wealth of experience in developing and executing sales initiatives and multi-media marketing strategies across multi-property operations to his new role.
Heading to The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge as director, sales & marketing is Uwe Walter . Walter began his career in Berlin with a hotel management apprenticeship and has since moved from Germany to Canada in a series of progressive hospitality positions. He joins the resort from The Fairmont Banff Springs.
Brian A. Calder , who has been named director, sales & marketing, Fairmont Pittsburgh. Calder started with Fairmont over a decade ago as a tour and group services agent at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louse.
Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten welcomes Joerg Zimmermann to the role of director, sales & marketing. Zimmermann is no stranger to the German hospitality sector, having spent over 15 years working throughout the country and Eastern Europe in a variety of progressive sales and marketing roles.
Fairmont Makati, Philippines appoints Jean Francois Pelaez to the role of executive chef. Paleaz began his training in France and has since honed his culinary skills around the world in kitchens from Nigeria and Mexico to The Bahamas and Taiwan. He joins Fairmont from his most recent role as director of culinary operations at a boutique hotel in Morocco.
Karan Suri , who takes on the role of group executive chef, Fairmont The Norfolk, Fairmont Mara Safari Club and Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. With nearly a decade's worth of experience in kitchens in India and Dubai, Suri brings a diverse palette and cooking style to the kitchens of Fairmont's hotel collection in Kenya.
New to Fairmont is Sridhar Thota who has been appointed director, food & beverage at the soon-to-open Fairmont Jaipur. With over ten years experience in the hospitality industry in India, Thota joins the company from a luxury hotel in Agra.
Trevor Cool , who takes on the role of director, food & beverage, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Beginning his career in Vancouver, Cool has held progressive positions throughout luxury hotels in the Rocky Mountain region and Hawaii.
Lino Rodrigues , who has been named director, food & beverage, Fairmont Washington, D.C, Georgetown. Rodrigues has worked on banquets teams at variety of luxury hotels from Toronto to Dublin over his 25 year career.
