Evergreen Construction Breaks Ground on Atlanta's First HYATT house Hotel
Atlanta, GA - April 9, 2012- Evergreen Construction (www.evergreencorp.com) has begun construction on Atlanta's first new HYATT house™ hotel. The 149-key HYATT house™ Atlanta Cobb Galleria hotel, owned by a joint venture between Atlanta based Noble Investments and an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, will be ready for occupancy in the spring of 2013.
Designed by Lindsay Pope Brayfield Clifford & Associates of Lawrenceville, Georgia, construction commenced last month. The six-story property is located in Atlanta's Cobb Galleria area within the Overton Park mixed use development at 3625 Cumberland Boulevard. The project is the first under the joint venture agreement between Hyatt and Noble reached in July of 2011. The new Hyatt-Noble venture will share ownership and invest over $80 million in Hyatt select service brands including HYATT house™ and HYATT PLACE™ Hotels.. “We're very excited about this project,” said Hyatt Vice President for Development-Southeast Brett Lasher. “We fully expect this property to become a great representation of our HYATT house™ flag.”
The 107,252 square foot hotel will anchor a 3.7 acre parcel and feature a pool, fitness center, and dining space. This will be the first Hyatt flag for Evergreen who has previously constructed both Marriott and Hilton flags including Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, and Residence Inn. Evergreen's expertise with sustainable design and construction will be utilized as the project will seek LEED certification. Evergreen is currently underway on other LEED targeted projects as well as numerous other sustainable / green projects.
