Outrigger Enterprises Group Promotes Two
Joy Uchida as Corporate Director of Financial Systems and Carolyn Baba Aquino as Treasury & Finance Manager/Controller
WAIKIKI, OAHU, HI - December 9, 2011 - Mel Wilinsky, executive vice president and chief financial officer is pleased to announce the promotion of Joy Uchida to corporate director of financial systems and Carolyn Baba Aquino to treasury & finance manager/controller.
In her newly created position, Joy Uchida is responsible for the oversight of the implementation project for the company's new Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One system conversion. Ms. Uchida started her Outrigger career in 1987 as an assistant controller for Outrigger Hotels where she first implemented the JD Edwards World system just a year later in 1988. Since then, Ms. Uchida has held various management roles in the financial services department including tax manager, financial reporting manager, controller, and her most recent position as corporate controller. Ms. Uchida holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
In her new role as treasury and finance manager/controller, Carolyn Baba Aquino assumes oversight of the financial functions for the OHANA Hotels & Resorts properties in Waikiki. Prior to joining Outrigger, Ms. Aquino gained years of valuable experiences in different management positions. She has worked at the Princeville Resort on Kauai, various Sheraton properties on three islands, and the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel. She joined Outrigger as controller at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach where she spent three years before being promoted to her most recent post as treasury and finance manager. Ms. Aquino graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the school of travel industry management.
