Michael Palmeri Appointed VP Acquisitions and Development for Loews Hotels
NEW YORK, NY - November 17, 2011 - Loews Hotels announces the appointment of Michael Palmeri as vice president, acquisitions and development. Palmeri joins the Loews team as part of the strategic initiatives the company is taking to expand its hotel platform and portfolio of properties. He will work to identify opportunities to grow the Loews brand into new North American gateway cities, as well as complementary resort destinations. Palmeri will oversee and navigate these efforts through existing asset acquisitions, ground-up construction, and third-party management.

Palmeri joins Loews Hotels with extensive ownership experience having previously worked for lodging real estate, private equity platforms - including Chicago-based Abacus Lodging Investors, and San Francisco-based Chartres Lodging Group. Most recently with Abacus, he served as Vice President and Principal, and was responsible for leading both acquisition and asset management efforts. Palmeri has invested in and closed on more than $2.0 billion in full-service, upscale hotel real estate in major U.S. markets.
