The Michelangelo Appoints Glenda Simmons GM

NEW YORK, NY - February 16, 2011 - This year brings exciting changes to The Michelangelo hotel in New York City: Glenda Simmons has been appointed General Manager, effective immediately. Simmons assumes the role after having spent fourteen years as Hotel Manager at The Michelangelo.

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Simmons immigrated to the United States in 1980. She thought her vocation was to be a teacher. She instead gravitated towards a profession that had been instilled in her throughout her upbringing: hospitality. While living with her grandparent's, a home that was always filled with extended family and guests, Simmons learned the secrets to creating an environment that is both welcoming and nourishing for the mind and spirit. Simmons has utilized this knowledge throughout her more than 30-year career while holding senior level positions at some of New York's top hotels including: the Regency Hotel and The Mayfair Regent Hotel (prior to its conversion into luxury condominiums.)
