“Les Manoirs de Tourgeville” Opened on May 17, 2010
After a nine-month period of refurbishment by Groupe Floirat, the Hostellerie de Tourgeville, formerly called Club 13, reopens its doors under a new name: Les Manoirs de Tourgeville
Les Manoirs de Tourgeville
Groupe Floirat has now opened its second charming yet luxurious hotel. The strong will and desire of Antoine Chevanne (CEO of Groupe Floirat) and his parents Sylvain Chevanne (President) and Mireille Chevanne (President of the Hotel Byblos and also in charge of the decoration of all Groupe Floirat properties), has made this possible.
While waiting for its fourth star, the hotel has been completely transformed. It is now bigger, with four new manor houses, a sublime landscaped park and a restaurant called “1899”, already known as one of the best in the region.
Once again, Groupe Floirat releases a legendary property that has welcomed the entire world and is now a myth in the hospitality industry. Antoine Chevanne chose to develop an ambitious project while respecting the story and the spirit that defines the hotel. He decided to keep the original structure of the hotel and only transform the interiors, adding four small manors and a restaurant to the superb grounds surrounding the property.
Four charming manors are spread throughout the gardens, each featuring 8 rooms or 4 duplex apartments, complemented by private terraces and a panoramic restaurant featuring an authentic view of the countryside. The restaurant offers seating for up to 270 guests and can accommodate up to 450 guests for a cocktail party.
A regional theme
The decor of the rooms are themed around the region, a source of inspiration for Mireille Chevanne, at the helm of the interior design. Three recurrent themes can be found throughout the property: the sea, leisure activities and the film industry.
The decor reflects elements of the sea with an emphasis on the emblematic colors of the floral coast and paintings by Eugene Boudin. Leisure activities such as horse racing, polo, golf and just relaxing by the fireplace are accented in the rooms and common areas of the hotel. Finally, the decor also pays tribute to the film industry, with many pictures of artists and legendary movies throughout. Some rooms were also named after certain French and American artists, an homage to the American Film Festival taking place every year in Deauville.
There are fireplaces everywhere, warm, crackling and comfortable, while the fresh air of the countryside awakens guests after a long walk outside. The design features fabrics of Mayenne cloths, as well as beige, grey, taupe, pink and red cloths from Pierre Frey, Dedar and Manuel Canovas, selected by Mireille Chevanne and Marie Paule Sergent.
22 rooms and 35 suites including 19 duplexes and triplexes, for a total of 57 rooms are complete with antique pieces of furniture, fireplaces and sofas that give the salons their comfortable aspect while the floor-to-ceiling windows deliver a wonderful view of the countryside that brings serenity to the whole atmosphere.
Finally, the projection room, completely renovated and equipped with more than 50 comfortable seats, is ideal for private showings and movie premieres.
“1899”, a restaurant, a tribute
The restaurant of Les Manoirs de Tourgeville, the dining destination of hotel guests and locals, is called “1899”. 1899 is a name that perfectly reflects the values of loyalty and respect for the origins of the group. It is actually the birth year of the founder of the Floirat dynasty, Sylvain Floirat, great grandfather of the present CEO, Antoine Chevanne.
Chef Patrice Demangel created and orchestrated the menu of "1899". He is already a culinary consultant for the other charming boutique hotel of Groupe Floirat, La Reserve Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and the former Chef of the excellent Sofitel Miramar in Biarritz.
The food at 1899 will pay tribute to the traditional gastronomy of the Normandy region, with a modern and creative spirit, mixed with inspirations from other countries and regions.
A very personal yet casual style, highlighting the quality of the products and their origin, the restaurant will be housed in a round manor, offering an open view onto the countryside and of the park on the property. Chocolate, plum and beige will be the dominating tones of its decor, providing a joyful and warm atmosphere.
The restaurant can seat up to 270 people, and the service is impeccable and warm but elegantly relaxed at the same time, a signature of Groupe Floirat.
Rates
During its opening, Les Manoirs de Tourgeville will offer special rates for leisure travelers starting at 160 Euros (room and breakfast) but also for its corporate clientele, starting at 195 Euros (semi-residential packages).
