New Omaha Magnolia Hotel Appoints GM
DENVER, CO, December 1, 2006. Magnolia Hotels today announced the appointment of Alex Dallocchio to general manager of the Magnolia Hotel in Omaha, Neb.
"As an accomplished industry leader coming from our property in Dallas, Texas, Alex Dallocchio will serve as a wonderful addition to our newest project in Omaha," said Leigh Hitz, president of Denver-based Magnolia Hotels. "He will be a wonderful ambassador for our company as we enter the market as the first boutique hotel in Omaha."
Dallocchio has worked for the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas, Tex. since July 2004, serving as an executive committee member. There, he was responsible for assisting the general manager in administering and managing the hotel's operations, overseeing all front office operations, and maintaining costs and quality standards.
"I am excited to be appointed as the new general manager of the Magnolia Hotel Omaha," said Dallocchio. "I look forward to establishing the Magnolia as the premier hotel in Omaha, and I know we will play a vital role to the growth and success of downtown."
Prior to joining The Magnolia Hotels Corp., Dallocchio worked at the Austin Marriott South in Austin, Tex. From 1998-20002, Dallocchio worked in hotel management at some of Europe's finest hotels, including The Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, Italy; the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, a member of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts Luxury Collection; the Jolly Hotel Machiavelli in Milan, and The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
The Magnolia Hotel Omaha will open as a 145-room upscale boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Omaha, catering to the sophisticated traveler. With 21 two-story suites, a new ballroom seating up to 250 guests and the renowned interior courtyard, the property will transcend modern style while retaining National Historic Preservation status.
