Marco Hejazi Named General Manager of New York City's MODA & MODA Outdoors Located in Flatotel

NEW YORK, NY, November 2, 2005. New York City's hippest hotel, Flatotel, has named Marco Hejazi, general manager of its two chic Italian eateries, MODA and MODA Outdoors. Hejazi, who will also be acting as food and beverage supervisor, brings over 15 years of food and beverage managerial experience, and oversee the two restaurants, including the unique indoor space, MODA, as well as MODA Outdoors, the impressive 6,000 square foot outdoor space (located in the breezeway between 52 and 53 Street) which is protected by a three-story high glass canopy and can accommodate sit-down dinners up to 150 people as well as cocktail receptions up to 400. Flatotel's MODA and MODA Outdoors are located in the heart of midtown Manhattan at 135 West 52 Street.

Before joining the MODA team, Hejazi was the food and beverage director at The Paramount Hotel's Paramount Bar and Library Bar. A jack-of-all-trades at the Paramount Hotel, Hejazi also served as the executive chef or "chef patron" for The Mezzanine Restaurant, the hotels in-house restaurant. Prior to that, he was assistant general manager for the Marriott Residence Inn in New York, where he was responsible for all aspects of the operation of the hotel including food and beverage. His extensive resume includes stints at numerous New York City hot spots including the Doral Park Avenue Hotel, The Warwick Hotel, The Cornell Club and more. A native of Italy (IS THIS RIGHT??), Hejazi began his career in the hospitality and restaurant business as a room service supervisor at Westchester Renaissance Hotel & Resort in White Plains, New York. He is a graduate of the Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and certified in food and beverage management and culinary art by the University of Florence, Italy.
