. October 14, 2008

OCTOBER 26, 2006. New products, new ideas and new inspiration will highlight the 2006 International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show(R) (IH/M&RS), the premier hospitality event connecting more than 35,000 industry professionals from around the world with 1,250 trend-setting exhibitors. Taking place November 11-14, 2006, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the 91st annual edition will offer new and exciting resources for hospitality designers, an expanded technology sector, Guestroom 2010 and a full schedule of programs and events.

Hospitality designers will find fresh resources and preview up-and-coming trends at Destination DesignTM, making its debut at the 2006 IH/M&RS. Featuring a dedicated educational track, high-end design products within the show's Luxury Product Collection and networking opportunities with key industry professionals, Destination Design will provide resources and insight for designers and property owners looking to improve the aesthetic appeal of their establishments. Also enhancing the design offerings at the Show is an all-new Gold Key Gallery, featuring furniture, fixtures and equipment resources from 2006 Gold Key Awards finalist properties.

"With Destination Design, we're providing a unique opportunity for hospitality property operators and designers to come together and learn about emerging trends," said Christian Falkenberg, show manager. "Through a combination of compelling seminars and fresh products, the IH/M&RS will serve as a single source for discovering everything new in the world of hospitality design."

In addition to new design resources, hotel and restaurant owners and operators will discover nearly 200 companies within the technology sector, representing a growth of 15 percent over the 2005 show. Attendees shopping the technology aisles will discover the latest innovations for the industry, including business center services, check-in kiosks, high-definition televisions, reservation systems, security systems, software, telecommunications and wireless solutions.

Guestroom 2010 will further enhance the technology offerings at the IH/M&RS, as attendees step into the future of guestroom technology and amenities in this prototype hotel room. The display features the latest and near-future technologies, ranging from extreme innovations such as high-definition artwork which changes to match a guests' mood, to the more practical self-cleaning shower. A project of the Hospitality and Financial Professionals, Guestroom 2010 features 56 different technologies that were discovered following a worldwide, comprehensive search of existing, cutting-edge and future guestroom innovations.

"Guestroom 2010 will generate a great deal of buzz on the show floor, as attendees discover the extraordinary new technologies that are right around the corner," said Christian Falkenberg, show manager. "Educating industry professionals about the latest products and resources continues to be our objective for the IH/M&RS, and Guestroom 2010 will help this effort in a very intriguing way."

Off the show floor, the IH/M&RS will feature approximately 40 sessions for lodging and foodservice professionals, addressing such topics as leadership skills, evolving hotel technology, risk management, responding to trends, hospitality design, foodservice equipment and success as a restaurateur. Highlighting the program lineup is a keynote address by Rudy Giuliani, which will focus on his "Principles of Leadership". Educational sessions will begin with the Hospitality Leadership Forum, a full-day conference held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, followed by additional programs and culinary demonstrations scheduled throughout Sunday, November 12, 2006, and Monday, November 13, 2006. A complete list of programs is available online at www.ihmrs.com.

Networking activities and special events will round out the market experience, including the 91st annual International Hospitality Ball, on Saturday, November 11, 2006, and Late Night with IH/M&RS at BB King's, on Sunday, November 12, 2006. In addition, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) will present its annual Fall Conference in conjunction with the IH/M&RS, creating additional networking opportunities for lodging professionals. The annual Inaugural Gala Reception & Dinner, on Sunday, November 12, 2006, will be among Conference highlights. A complete schedule of IH/M&RS events is available online at www.ihmrs.com.
