SITA Reveals New CIO Appointment
GENEVA, Switzerland, October 16, 2006. SITA has announced the appointment of Jean-Pascal Aubert as Chief Information Officer. As a member of the Senior Management Team, he reports directly to the CEO, Francesco Violante. Jean-Pascal holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Ecole Normale Sup'erieure of Paris and is also a graduate of ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique) and the Harvard Business School. He has over 20 years experience with leading IT companies.
His early career experience was gained in Alcatel in the development of innovative solutions in their research laboratory and then with Areva (now Cogema) where he implemented the first European Client Server project. Jean-Pascal later joined Bull where he became Executive VP, Worldwide Systems Integration, managing the international ERP implementation and having responsibility for the CTO function.
His more recent career has been as CIO for Bouygues Telecom and in the last five years as CIO of SFR Cegetel Group, two of the largest fixed/mobile telecom operators in France.
Based at SITA's international headquarters in Geneva, Jean-Pascal leads a geographically spread team of IT experts. His responsibilities include the development and management of SITA's internal Information Technology (IT) and defining standards of IT architecture across the organisation. He is also set to play a key strategic role in "simplifying" IT operations for the air transport industry across SITA's portfolio of IT solutions.
