Senih Geray Appointed GM, St. Regis, Aspen
ASPEN, CO, October 6, 2006. Senih Geray has been named general manager of the St. Regis Resort Aspen, effective September 2006. The announcement was made by Rick Suhl, senior vice president of operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
'We are thrilled that Senih Geray is assuming the position of general manager of St. Regis Resort, Aspen,' Suhl said. 'He has excellent experience with both St. Regis brand and luxury resorts and understands that personal attention to details and customer recognition is crucial to a luxury hotel's success.'
Prior to his appointment, Geray served as general manager of Sheraton Voyager Antalya Hotel, Resort & Spa in Turkey for four years. He was with the St. Regis New York from 1994 to 2002 in various capacities ending as the financial controller. He started his career in the hospitality industry at the Sheraton Grande Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. in 1989.
Geray earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the United States International University in London and continued his education in San Diego, Calif. with studies in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He also attended the Summer Professional Development Program at Cornell University in 1996.
Mr. Geray is a Turkish American. He has relocated to Aspen with his wife Patricia and his two sons, Cem and Eren.
