Benchmark Appoints Director of National Sales

HOUSTON, TX, July 30, 2007. Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Scott Mumma director of national sales for the leading hospitality management company. Eric Terry, vice president of sales & marketing, made the announcement. Mr. Mumma is based at Benchmark's northeast offices, located at The Heldrich in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

As director of national sales for Benchmark Hospitality, Mr. Mumma is responsible for developing and expanding national accounts for the company's portfolio of properties located across the country and off shore. He also oversees the company's national trade show strategy.

Scott Mumma was previously the director of sales & marketing for North Maple Inn, the property Benchmark opened and successfully operated for many years in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He assumed this position after serving as director of sales for the company's Downtown Conference Center, a day meeting facility located in lower Manhattan, New York City. While at the Center, Mumma was instrumental in developing new business opportunities, greatly enhancing the property's overall success. Prior to this, he was senior sales manager for Lansdowne Resort, Benchmark's east coast flagship property, located near Leesburg, Virginia, in the Washington, DC metro area.

An industry veteran beginning his career in 1993, Mr. Mumma's celebrated accomplishments include the Benchmark "Bulldog Award" in recognition of his leadership and tenacity in achieving sales goals; the 2002 "STAR Lead" award, which honors the company's top lead generator; and membership into the exclusive Benchmark "Platinum Club," which recognizes the company's leading sales professionals.

Scott Mumma is a member of the Greater New York Chapter of Meeting Professionals International as well as the Big Apple Chapter of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He resides in Union, New Jersey, with his wife and two year old son.
